Kaitlyn Barciszewski is passionate about seeking justice for people denied benefits by their insurance companies. She enjoys getting to know each of her clients and helping ease their legal burdens. Every day, she is motivated to work hard in an area of law that allows her to help prevent people with disabilities from sinking into poverty. She is also motivated to create better case precedents for future people in similar situations.
Kaitlyn has worked for Eric Buchanan & Associates since the summer of her second year of law school at Washington & Lee University School of Law. During law school, she received the Louise A. Halper Award for Best Note on the Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice. She went on to serve as an Editorial Board member of the Journal, helping other students write notes. Kaitlyn also enjoyed working in the Advanced Administrative Litigation Clinic where she represented coal miners and their survivors seeking federal black lung benefits.
Before law school, Kaitlyn attended Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN, where she majored in Law, Justice, and Society and minored in Sociology. She graduated summa cum laude and received the SALT scholar award for her volunteer and service project efforts.
When she is not fighting insurance companies, Kaitlyn enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring the outdoors, reading, and baking. She also loves being at home with her two cats, Jasper and Clementine.
